Medicare
When dealing with Medicare, many individuals must navigate it independently as few employers provide on-site specialists to assist with healthcare decisions. This can be daunting due to the multitude of choices, some of which are irreversible depending on health status. Failure to enroll on time can result in lifelong monthly penalties.
What is Medicare?
Medicare is a federal health insurance program for:
- People who are 65 or older
- Certain younger people with disabilities
- People with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD)
We urge you to ask yourselves the following questions:
- Do you know when the best time is for YOU to enroll in Medicare?
- Do you know what each part of Medicare covers?
- Do you know the differences between Medigap and Medicare Advantage?
- Will the plan you are looking at allow you to see all the doctors you want to see?
- Based on your income, will they charge you the standard Medicare rate, or will you be hit with IRMAA?
- Have you factored Medicare premiums and out-of-pocket costs into your retirement plan?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions, we highly recommend that you meet with our Medicare Specialist, Kiersten DeFluri. Your future is precious and well worked for – Let’s make sure we set it up right!

What does the appointment process entail?
- Prior to scheduling any Medicare consultations, we will direct you to complete our pre-appointment questionnaire, located HERE.
- Once we have received your questionnaire, we will give you a call at the number you provide to schedule your initial consultation.
- During the initial consultation, we will review the ins and outs of Medicare and go over the plans that are best suited to your situation. Depending on the number of questions, this meeting can average 1-2 hours in length.
- We then suggest that you go home, digest the information, and speak with individuals in similar plans to gauge their satisfaction with their health coverage.
- At the second consultation, we will review any questions you have and enroll you in your desired plans.
